The Norden 901 is one of those adventure bikes that feels much lighter and more manageable from the saddle than you expect when you first walk up to it. It has real long-distance capability, but it never gives you the feeling that you are wrestling with a huge touring motorcycle.The 889cc parallel-twin has a great combination of torque, smoothness and personality. It pulls strongly from low rpm, has plenty of power for highway passing and feels especially good when you are running through mountain roads or standing on the pegs on a dirt road. The throttle response is predictable, and the engine has enough character to keep the bike entertaining even when you are just riding around town.What stood out to me most was the balance of the chassis. The fuel sits low, which helps the Norden feel planted without feeling top-heavy. It changes direction easily, handles rough pavement extremely well and gives you a lot of confidence when the road turns to gravel. The suspension has enough travel to absorb real bumps and washboard without making the bike feel vague on pavement.The riding position is upright, roomy and comfortable, with excellent visibility and plenty of space to move around.
