What changed: named every company we share data with (Stripe, Printful, Resend, Cloudflare, DigitalOcean, Google AdSense), listed the actual cookies the site sets, added a retention table, added California and Texas privacy rights with an appeal process, and added our postal address and a legal contact separate from support.
MotoGossip (motogossip.com) is a motorcycle listings, news, parts and merchandise site. This page explains what information the site handles, why, who we share it with, and what say you have in it. The short version: we collect very little, we do not sell it, and most of the site works without an account at all.
MotoGossip is owned and operated by Gossip Apps LLC, a Texas limited liability company. MotoGossip is the controller of the personal information described here.
To provide the site (accounts, listings, search, the price index, the shop); for security and fraud prevention; to process payments; to give support; to comply with the law; to improve the product; and to communicate with you. Transactional emails (sign-in codes, order confirmations, terms updates) are always sent. Marketing emails, like the weekly round-up, are sent only if you opt in, and every one carries an unsubscribe link.
Where European or UK privacy law applies, we process your information under one of these bases: performance of a contract (running your account, taking payment), legitimate interests (security, preventing fraud, improving the site), your consent (marketing email, non-essential cookies), or a legal obligation.
We do not sell your personal information. We share it only with:
We do not share personal information for cross-context behavioural advertising, except that the AdSense cookies described in section 6 may count as “sharing” under California law. You can opt out through the AdSense settings link in section 6, and we honor Global Privacy Control signals as an opt-out of that sharing.
The cookies MotoGossip actually sets:
Your theme preference (light or dark) is stored in your browser’s local storage, not a cookie, and never leaves your device.
We also use the Meta (Facebook) Pixel and Meta’s Conversions API to measure how well our ads perform; this sends Meta information about the pages you view and the purchases you make on this site.
Data moves over TLS in transit and is encrypted at rest on our hosting volumes. Access to production systems is limited to the people who run MotoGossip, and secrets are kept in a secrets manager, not in code. We keep backups so a failure does not mean data loss. No method of transmission or storage is perfectly secure, and if a breach affects your information we will notify you as required by the Texas Business and Commerce Code section 521.053 and any other law that applies.
You can ask us to access, correct, delete, or export (in a portable format) the personal information we hold about you, and you can object to or ask us to restrict certain processing. Email [email protected] or, where the feature exists, use the controls in your account. We will verify your identity before acting on a request and respond within 45 days.
California (CCPA/CPRA). If you are a California resident, you have the right to know what personal information we collect, to delete it, to correct it, to opt out of the sale or sharing of it (see section 5 for how AdSense cookies may count as sharing, and how to opt out), to limit use of sensitive personal information, and to not be discriminated against for exercising these rights. You can use an authorized agent to make a request on your behalf.
Texas (TDPSA). If you are a Texas resident, you have the right to confirm whether we process your personal data, to access, correct, delete and get a portable copy of it, and to opt out of targeted advertising, the sale of personal data, and profiling in furtherance of decisions with legal or similarly significant effects. To exercise a right, email [email protected]. We will respond within 45 days. If we decline a request, you can appeal by replying to our decision within 60 days, and if we deny the appeal we will tell you how to file a complaint with the Texas Attorney General.
EEA/UK. If European or UK data protection law applies to you, you also have the right to lodge a complaint with your local supervisory authority.
MotoGossip is not directed to children. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 13, and we do not knowingly let anyone under 18 hold an account. If we learn we have collected information from a child, we delete it. A parent or guardian can write to [email protected].
MotoGossip is hosted and operated in the United States, and personal information is stored there. Where a transfer of EEA or UK data to the United States requires a safeguard such as standard contractual clauses, our processors provide it.
Browsers’ Do Not Track signal is not a consistent standard, and we do not currently respond to it. We do honor the Global Privacy Control signal, treating it as an opt-out of the sale or sharing of your personal information described in section 5.
The listings on the board are public advertisements aggregated from dealers and marketplaces, and listings posted directly by riders and dealers, shown with a price comparison against similar bikes. Seller names, locations and contact details shown on a listing are chosen by whoever posted it, or come from the public source it was collected from. Nightly collection of dealer listings gathers business information about vehicles for sale, not personal information about private individuals.
Email [email protected] from the address on your account and we will delete the account and everything tied to it, subject to the retention periods in section 7.
We update this policy when what we collect or share changes. Material changes are announced the same way as changes to the Terms of Use. The version and date at the top tell you which one you are reading, and the current version always lives at this address.
